Unleashed Preview: AAW Women's Champion Alexis Lee defends against Roxy Ryot in a Last Woman Standing match
January 5, 2018
2018 will see another first in the history of Australian wrestling, a Last Woman Standing match for the AAW Women’s Championship between Champion Alexis Lee and challenger Roxy Ryot. The AAW Women’s championship was brought back from sabbatical in August 2017 at the Perth Classic, when Alexis Lee was crowned champion after defeating America’s Katie Forbes.
Since that time Alexis Lee has continued to make AAW history when she main evented Rock n’ Wrestling with Savannah Summers, the first time a women’s match of any kind has closed an AAW event. At SuperClash 2017, Alexis Lee faced her greatest challenge yet, in the monstrous challenger Roxy Ryot. The match did not come to a conclusive end, but the challenger left her mark, leaving Alexis Lee out of action with broken ribs.
Some may argue that the only reason Roxy Ryot is not the champion right now is a technicality, but come January 20th there will be no excuses as the only way to win is to keep your opponent down for the count of 10. Anything goes, no disqualifications, no count-outs, no excuses, there must be a winner.
Be there live at the Warnbro Y Rec Centre on January 20th to find out who will be the Last Woman Standing and leave as the AAW Women’s Champion.
