Since 2006 the AAW World Championship has been the crown for the very best wrestler in Australia. 20 different men have had the honour of a championship reign, including household names that include; Paul London, Christopher Daniels, Raven and Orlando Jordan. Arguably most dominant among them stands Australia’s own, the reigning and defending Wayne ‘The Maniac’ Mattei.
The Maniac has already had a Hall of Fame career, going toe to toe with very best in Australia including epic contests with ‘Australian Sensation’ Craven and AAW cornerstone The Shark. However, earlier this year AAW was introduced to it’s new majority shareholder Marc Midas and although Midas does not present a physical threat to Maniac’s thrown he may prove to be the most dangerous obstacle yet. Midas has outlined a clear plan to take down the established fan favourites of AAW with AAW World Champion The Maniac at the forefront of his plots. Midas’ most recent scheme to take the championship from Mattei saw wrestling legend ‘Big Poppa Pump’ Scott Steiner make his AAW debut at SuperClash, and although the contest was chaotic and violent in nature, Steiner was unable to wrestle away for championship from Mattei.
So the question stands, what is next hurdle to be thrown The Maniac’s way? We do not know who or what faces the AAW World Champion December 2nd at AAW Total Chaos, but we can be sure that Midas will do everything in his power to see the downfall of the AAW legend.
Be there live to see ‘Total Chaos’ ensue on December 2nd as Wayne ‘The Maniac’ Mattei faces the unknown and hopes to storm into 2018 still our AAW World Champion. Tickets are on sale now at www.showtickets.com.au \
